PROJECT SASTHYO SURAKSHA

February 28, 2023

An integral component of palliative care is to provide life care services to people in need. Ashmiyara takes pride project sasthyo suraksha where in 50 children were provided with counseling and food support for 6 months in South 24 parganas and Sunderban area. The children were suffering from lack of care and nutrition. The project also helped in providing mental support to some of the ailing and critically ill children. The remoteness of the areas doesnot allow for easy access to medicinal and food support and therefore the project was a welcome relief to beneficiaries.

PROJECT JOGAJOG

February 28, 2023

Project Jogajog was a 3 month project designed to serve children of slum children in North 24 Parganas. The project aimed at providing training and care to children with health and body checkups (basic assessment of weight, height and tooth health) along with nutritional advice. The program was also filled with fun activities of painting, drawing, games and dancing. Children between the age 7 and 13 years enjoyed the jogajog program as the program provided entertainment to children. Nutritional supplies were also provided to enhance the health condition of slum children.

ANTI CRACKER RALLY

July 11, 2022

Fire crackers during kali puja is one of the responsible cause for air pollution and noise pollution.

In the year 2020 a rally was organised by Behala Ashmiyara Welfare Society with the support of Behala Police Station, Kolkata in Behala for preventing the lightning of fire crackers. Many children participated in this anti fire crackers rally.

We are thankful to the officers and staff of Behala Police Station for making the program successful.

RAKSHA BANDHAN PROJECT

February 18, 2019

Raksha Bandhan Project is a mind therapy program developed by Ashmiyara Welfare Society (Behala) at Kolkata, West Bengal, India for the children sufferingfrom cancer.

In 2011, during the festive season of Raksha Bandhan in the month of July, Ashmiyara Welfare Society celebrated the day with the cancer children where they had prepared Rakhi of their choice, with their own hands with which the celebrated during the day of Raksha Bandhan celebrated with their brothers, sisters, friends and family.

For the project, we provided the children with the eco friendly materials required for the rakhi making, keeping in mind about the quality which would not have any kind of pollution effect upon their health.

Through this project we were successful in gaining the smile and joyfull face of these children.

CANCER AWARENESS

July 11, 2022

Cancer Awareness Program is an awareness program organized by Behala Ashmiyara Welfare Society for the public awareness about cancer, its treatments and prevention.

On World Cancer Day, 4th February 2019, Behala Ashmiyara Welfare Society organized an Awareness Program from Golfgreen to Jadavpur, Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

In this awareness program, rally was held from Golfgreen to Jadavpur; a free health check up camp was organized for the public. In this program 450 people participated in the rally and we got huge no of public participation in the health check up camp.

Any work is possible with able team work and guidance, thus we are very thankful to the team of Ashmiyara Welfare Society, Dr. Swagato Chowdhury, Puja Clubs, and all the people who participated to make our program effective.



MA ER RANNA GHOR

February 18, 2019

Ma er Rannaghor Project is a community nutrition project organized by Behala Ashmiyara Welfare Society held in the year 2019 from the month of March keeping in mind about the health of the patient's household.

Ma er Rannaghor was organized in front of the gate of SSKM Hospital, Calcutta Medical College and NRS mainly for the household of the patient that were admitted there. Healthy foods were provided including rice, dal, mixed veg curry which used to be either paneer or soybean, lassi and a seasonal fruit at the cost of Rs. 5.

The initiative was taken by the members of Behala Ashmiyara Welfare Society keeping in mind about the households of the patient who were unable to keep up with the proper food during their crisis period.

We are thankful to all the individual donors, clubs and committees who extended their support in order to make the project successful.
