Project overviewThe Kamal Kanchan Samaj Kalyan Bandhu project,organized by Behala Ashmiyara Welfare Society, honorsDurga Puja clubs that actively engage in social welfarethroughout the year. Winners are selected based ondocumentation of their community service by a panel ofjudges, including art students, celebrities, doctors, andofficials. The prize is presented by the children ofAshmiyara.

Around 100 to150 Puja clubs from both South and NorthKolkata wholeheartedly take part in this meaningfulcompetition each year. To support their efforts, weprovide banners and hoardings to all participating clubs.Some of the notable participants include New AliporeSuruchi Sangha, Behala Natun Dal, Thakurpukur SBPark, Dumdum Tarun Dal, Vivekananda Milan SanghaBaghajatin, among many other dedicated clubs

BEHALA ASHMIYARA WELFARE SOCIETY CARESFOR 400 STREET CHILDREN, OFTENNEGLECTED BY SOCIETY, WITH THE BELIEFTHAT THEY DESERVE A BRIGHT FUTURE LIKEANY OTHER CHILD. DURING DURGA PUJA, 200CHILDREN ARE TAKEN ON PANDAL HOPPINGTRIPS BY BUS. ALL THE CHILDREN RECEIVENEW CLOTHES, MEALS THROUGHOUT THE DAY,AND ARE SUPPORTED BY AN AMBULANCE WITHMEDICAL AID FOR EMERGENCIES.
